I have been a Multiple Sclerosis Patient (Chronic Progressive) for 19 years. Very bad spasticity in legs, sometimes extended up to waist. Pain in both legs. Swelling in both feet and ankles--worse in right leg. Weak in both legs. Right hand will not straighten out. Right arm will not straighten out. Pain in left arm since January 1997. Pain in left shoulder developed later.
1. June 11, 1997, I used the machine 25 minutes. Very tired. Developed a little soreness.2. Used again June 13, 1997. Felt a little lighter in the feet. Stiffness in neck.
3. Continue to use it at 30 minutes (20 toward and 10 minutes backward). My arms got sore. My swelling in legs seems better. Much less pain. My legs are tingling after I get off the machine.
4. When I miss my exercise, my legs begin to ache and I have more leg cramps.
Continued using the Quadriciser® 2x a week until May 1998. My left arm shows some definition in upper arm. Right ankle joint has become movable again. It was very much set and could not move it. Still have pain in left shoulder. Right arm still will not straighten out, but arm muscles seem stronger.
Continued using Quadriciser® through 12-31-98. Try to use it 3x a week. I use the machine for 30 minutes at the speed 35-45 RPM. I'm not running marathon, but my legs feel so much better. I missed two weeks in December 1998 and January 1999 due to weather. I did get some soreness when I used the machine after two weeks. My legs were swelling and hurting quite a bit. When I got back into exercising, my leg swelling went away and my legs did not hurt so bad. I just wish I could use the Quadriciser® every day. I would love to have one in my home! Chronic illnesses need physical exercise for which insurances will not pay. It will pay for acute problems but not for chronic problems.
I have continued to use the Quadriciser®. It keeps all my joints moving from my shoulders to my feet. I could not get this much passive range of motion exercise from a therapist, because insurance wouldn't pay and the time spent exercising would be quite lengthy. My left shoulder is much better. I am using the Quadriciser® 3x a week at 45 RPM for 40 minutes at a session. It still keeps my legs from swelling and helps with preventing leg cramps. I hope to continue using the Quadriciser® for a long time. I wish everyone with limited mobility could have access to the Quadriciser®!
